Weight Loss Program

This program is designed for the patient to steadily lose weight through the use of subscription medication. Because the medicine can have side effects, we feel it is important that the patient be monitored by a physician on a regular basis to make sure that patient can lose weight in a healthy manner. The program is outlined below:

  • Patients are first evaluated as to their suitability for the program. This will likely include a physical exam if you are not an existing patient of Dr. Lee

  • The patient is expected to have monthly appointments with the doctor for the first 3 months and then appointments every 3 months afterwards. Some of these appointments can be telemedicine appointments.

  • For non-insured patients, the patient pays $100 for the first visit, and if accepted into the program, the patient pays $100 per visit.

  • If the patient has insurance, it is possible that you may be able to get a significant portion paid by insurance. In that case, the cost is reduced by whatever insurance covers.

Medication

If the patient's insurance covers weight loss medication, it is probably best to go with the available medication through your regular pharmacy prescription. However, many insurance do not cover weight loss medication. In that instance, we can prescribe through a compounding pharmacy. We are currently prescribing semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound) by injection that we obtain from a reputable compounding pharmacy. We obtain the medicine in 6-week dosages. We sell that to the patient at our cost plus $50 for shipping and handling. The cost is based on the dosage the patient uses, so the patient usually starts at a small dosage and increases as he/she adapt to the medication. At this time, the estimated cost for a 6-week supply is approximately $150 to $400 depending on the choice of medication and the dosage.

We are discounting the medication by 3% if you pay by check or cash.
